Any Thoughts?
So I started breeding my females in Nov and witnessed several locks, ravenous eating, building, cool seeking, going of feed, ovulation, shed, and then heat seeking. They were very huge and now they are slimmer but still riding high. The thing is one is due to lay in a week and the other in 3 weeks and then they started acting aggressive in their tubs like they were hungary so I fed them and they ate. Now every time I come into the room they are ready to go and have eaten every time I have offered. They have been off feed for around 2 months. So anybody know what's going on here?

Looks like you've got girls with their own plans!
Its possible they are gravid.
Some females have stayed on feed till they layed.
The are all individuals and don't ever stay to plan.
Have you palpated? Feel anything?
I'm no expert so hope someone more exp. Chimes in.

If what you saw was a true ovulation she will lay. At that point there is no turning back. Could be you mistaked building for ovy?? I have also witnessed females eating through the whole process right up til they lay. Only time will tell.

Don't feed them large meals, they are already accommodating a lot if they are gravid so keep the meals small if you continue to feed. Some females won't eat from the time you introduce the male while others will eat the entire time. If they truly ovulated you will see the eggs. A lot of people can mistake building follicles for ovulation, but once you see the ov you can't mistake it!

Oh, they have definately been throwing me curve balls. They went off feed twice already, once in nov and dec, then they were just putting away as much as I would give them, and then from feb till a week ago. I tried palpating but its my first time trying and they dont really want to cooperate with that. They feel full thats all I can say but I dont think I did it early enough to feel any follicles so they might be past that. They are some heavy fat bottomed girls though. Thanks

I'm almost 99% sure they ovulated. They did have huge builds so it is possible but I did see a considerable difference from the building so I'm pretty sure. Hopefully they are just messing with me and I'll get some eggs. Thanks

Yeah I figured. I've only given them a couple small mice since they wanted food again. They did have huge builds but I'm pretty sure I saw a difference from that with the ovy but they may have tricked me. They are very sneaky. Thanks for the input
