im new here and im not exactly sure about hets and stuff like that but ive been doing alot of research on breeding and im interested but thats not what this thread is about i currently have only on BP and i got him as a normal from petsmart.. but i noticed he has a wobble could that mean he is het spider? or can it be normal in regular ball pythons too?

Wobbles can occur from overheats. As well as headtilting, and corkscrewing. Not saying this is what happened but it's a possibility.

Spider is a dominant trait, therefore if it doesn't look like a spider, its not a spider.
Only recessive traits look like normals in the heterozygous (het) form.
Any snake can display a wobble, but with it not being a spider, it could mean there are other issues, If its not too late take it back to the store and buy from a real breeder, if not all you can do is keep him/her away form other snakes and watch and see how they do. I won't get into the "It could be this, could be that" because it could be nothing.
hows your husbandry? temps correct? cage set up correctly?

there is no such thing as a het spider. your snake could just be hungry and with you looking at him he is waiting to see if you are going to feed him. just like a puppy waiting for a treat.

Just to clarify, there is no normal-appearing "het" for Spider. A ball python is either a Spider (visible) or not.
What was your snake doing when it showed the wobbling behavior? Is this something that happens frequently?

ive had him for 6 months now and hes very healthy he takes all the food i introduce and one side of the tank is 84 or 85ish and the other side has an UTH and keeps it about the same temp on that side sometimes the temps drop a little below 80 can it be due to underheating too?

I know we don't don't say het spider, but every spider is heterozygous (het) actually.

If it has been 6 months it is most likely a neurological disorder (not genetic) specific to this animal with an unknown cause. Cause could have been trauma or defect. Most diseases that would make the snake appear to wobble would have killed the snake by now. Your temps seem okay for ambient but you should have a hot spot 90-93 F.
