TorqueFest pics, for you car lovers!
It was a fun car filled weekend! My uncle has been buying junk and turning it into pretty neat cars! He invited us to TorqueFest, which was in Maquoketa, IA this year. He entered his '55 Dodge-which I got to drive!  It was a 'three on the tree' really interesting to drive and a little scary, it takes a good 10 feet to stop the thing with the brake pedal to the floor! And no I didn't kill it! 
First up his truck  It has a big emblem of his company on the doors now, he's a plumber, but we forgot to take a picture of it at the show (oops!)

And before, he paid $600, a pretty sweet truck for $600, although I'm sure he a lot into it. It would be so fun to have a truck like that!
Now back to the scheduled program
Check out the shifter and the gas pedal if you can see it! (the shifter is a sword and the gas pedal is a fork!)
Love the paint!
This was made from a wingtip fuel tank on a Constellation (airplane)
These two were made by a guy 100% by hand! He cut and shaped all the metal.

And one of my uncle's buddies was in my uncle's shop working on his cars. This was his Charger, he took us for a ride and went 110 mpr!!! That was crazy!

Oh and then to top off my fun filled car weekend, I got pulled over for my illegal tint an hour ago on my way home. I've had this tint for 4 years!!! It was 43%-per his meter in front and Iowa law is 75% Booo! And I'm selling it in a month to my sister! Go figure!

Oh yes you need to! That truck is so fun! We have a friend who is interested in selling a late 40s early 50s International, but I have no idea how much money it's going to take to get it running. 
Any idea what it would cost to get an old truck like that running. I forgot to ask my uncle what it took. But I bet it's not a cheap feat.

I have over $20,000 in mine right now.....Nothing is original though. It is being turned into a hot rod so everything is changed on it.... It is over at a buddies right now getting the body work done.... Hopefully it will be done this year.... As for how much it would have cost to take it back to original it would depend on how much work is needed on it, and how nice you wanted it to be...To make it a show car would cost a lot more than making it driver....
