    Safe Windex Alternative??

What would be safe to use to clean the glass on the outside (and inside) or a tank? Something Windex like but that wouldn't be bad for the animals.

Alternatively, would Windex be bad for them? I just assumed so.

Chlorhexidine is what I use to clean all tanks, tubs, glass everything. It works great! And it's safe to use around the animals. I squirt it on paper towel and wipe the glass down. No streaks either!

Vinegar would be the much safer equivalent to Windex.

There's an all-purpose cleaner from Natural Chemistry called Healthy Habitat, and I use that on everything. It's perfectly safe, and so gentle that you can even use it while the animal is still in the enclosure -- no fumes, nothing.

They have it on reptilebasics.com, and in a few pet stores as well.

x2. I use chlorohexidine also. This stuff is great and is safe for your snake too!

x3 Chlorohexidine for everything. Not sure if it is no streak though? I don't have any glass to use it on.

    Regards,

Another thumbs up to Chlorhexidine solution, or vinegar/water solution. Some people can't stand the smell of Vinegar. I've used it for so long for household and animal cleaning, I've grown to like the smell =P

If you're really OCD about how shiny the glass is, newspaper does a better job of keeping it streak-free than using papertowels while cleaning.

I use vinegar as well. And newspaper helps as far as streaks go I make pickles, so I love the smell of vinegar
