    feeding mice peanuts

I have been supplementing my mice and rats' diets with peanuts the last few days. I am doing this due to the protein content and beneficial fats in peanuts. We are putting just a small handful at a time as to not go overboard with the peanuts.
Am I breaking some cardinal rule here with this as far as rodents' systems being disturbed by peanuts or the pythons being affected by peanut fed rodents?
Thanks for any answers or thoughts.

I would not include peanuts in your rodent's diet. They are not especially good for them in any way.

Use a quality rodent diet, you won't need anything else.
