    Heat tape got wet.

I recently got 30 feet of 3 inch heat tape and forgot I had it in the basement. Our basement flooded due to a bad storm the other night and the heat tape got soaked. It was not being used and was not plugged in. How water resistant is it and will it work ok if I let it sry out for a while?

I highly doubt anything would go wrong with it since it wasn't plugged in. I've spilled water on my heat tape, while it was plugged in, plenty of times. It's pretty well sealed in plastic and I really can't see a way that it would have been harmed unless it was sitting in water for weeks. Just let it dry before you do anything with it.
