What do you do with bad breeders?

So what do you do if you get a male that won't breed? How many have you had? Do you just sell them? What do you consider a bad breeder (male)? How long do you give him before you give up on him?

What do you do if it is a female? What do you consider bad? No clutches, small clutches? Have you ever had a male or female attack the one you put in to try and breed with them.

I don't have a whole lot of experience right now, as I have only done four pairings this year, but I can tell you what I have noticed.
I have a couple of males that haven't bred for me this year. I still have them, they are 09' bps and I figured maybe they just didn't care for the female they were paired with.
The 2 pairings I really cared about worked just fine, so I am content.
I have noticed, that some pairings just don't work out. I know that there are things you can do to get the males interested, but as I said above, was content with what happened without doing anything but switching males. Some pairings go quickly and work out great. Some just don't. You can't expect a snake to like any other snake that is randomly put in the tub with them lol.

<------ This albino pos het snow refused to breed for three seasons and was also a problem asf or sometime mouse feeder. He was just over 1000 grams and producing plugs so that wasn't the problem. I sold him as a pet telling the buyer that he would not breed and didn't eat very well. I sold him for 100 bucks.

This week he surprised me an was finally locked with her so it took him 6 months trying every week.

Re: What do you do with bad breeders?

all of my males (virgins) took 20+ pairings before they figured it out. i was getting really frustrated trying to understand why they wouldnt do anything. i just held on to the idea that they're animals and have 3 basic functions to their existance: eat, reproduce and survive. i believe that sooner or later they'll figure it out. eventually they all did.

reptiles have individual characters, some are awesome top-of-the-totem-pole animals, some are kinda middle of the road "meh, it'll do" and some are like that cousin everybody has that no one really talks about. even your cousin will someday have kids.

Re: What do you do with bad breeders?

well not an expert but I tried to breed my pastel F to my spider M for months and then finally I threw in a pastel M to not lose the breeding season and they hooked up in less than an hour!! And the two, pastel x pastel, stayed hooked for ages. I didn't give up on my bumblebee wish and finally instead of sitting at opposite sides of her tub, i saw one look between the two. On the other hand the silly spider hooked a ton with my normal F, so maybe some balls don't really like other ones...
    Loads of balls around here
