Poor Guy 3rd addition to my Collection

Well he really isn't mine but for now i say he is. Basically the story is My buddies lesser Got an RI and he doesnt really know how to care for it. So i took the liberty of nursing it back to health. Plus my buddy is going through some personal life experiences and doesnt have a place or the time that this poor guy deserves.. So what would u guys say?

I am taking all the necessary precautions to make him better. Antibiotics, warmer temps and keeping him hydrated. The only thing he wont do for me is eat. But i am not gonna force him as he is at the breeding age and producing plugs so this could be the reason why. And he goes back to the Vet next week to check his progress.

At first he got worse but with all the right choices he seems to be getting better. No more mucus from the nose or mouth, clear breathing. The only thing is he opens his mouth about 10 times a day but it doesnt stay open. Crazy thing is after the anibiotics he did Vommit ALOT of Mucus, Which reminds me i gotta remind the vet of that.

ALso he is two rooms away from the rest of my collection.

So what do u guys think? Anything i am doing wrong? Anything else i should do? He is a gorgeous snake and cant wait for his future in my breeding projects!

    He is currently in shed.

One more question. At the tip of his eyes there is this orange rust looking stuff. I was wondering what could this be? The vet didnt really adress this at the visit. I will try my best to get it in the pics.

    Stomach really orange

    One of his eye?

    And him

Sounds like you are taking all of the right steps. Is he going into shed possibly? That's my guess on his belly. Usually with scale rot you can see a few patches that are extra red/sore looking. I would keep a close eye on it though, it seems like the middle has some line patterns which could indicate the beginning of scale rot. As for his eye, I'm thinking that's just his eye color sine that is where the yellow pattern runs through his eye. All BPs have a slightly different color to their eye where that stripe runs on the face. If it's something new, I have no idea what would cause that.

And I'm with you about him not eating. It could be from the meds, it could be from breeding season. He's at a healthy weight so there's no sense in force feeding him just yet.

Your snake sounds just like mine did maybe a bid worse. Have you seen my thread. Maybe it will give you ideas

I would not mess with the eyes, just keep the humidity in check and the eye caps will come off with the next shed. The orange color at the top of the eye is normal.
    Nothing
