I am curious how the rack caused the RI?
I have had flex-watt failure and catch it pretty quick, but I check my snakes several times a day.
Why dont you just replace the flex-watt?
60qt does seem to be a little on the large side, adults fit a 41qt unless the extra space is in height.

Well it did not fail. The tape I mean. Ok when I made the rack I checked temp on every level and they were the same but now every level has diff temps is it because each level has its own heat tape and should I remove it and put on big long piece through out the rack

I have both types of racks, one with 4 inch flexwatt going from shelf to shelf and one with separate flexwatt on each shelf and neither has heating issues.
This is for 28qt tubs though, I use 11x12 inch flexwatt under all of my larger tubs.

What is the ambient room temperature the rack is in?
Most tubs will get cold if the rooms temperature is under 70 as flexwatt mostly just keeps the warm end ambient temp up but doesn't do much for the cool end.

I don't suggest going to larger tubs as you'll find they are even harder to heat than 40qt tubs, especially with that small of heat tape under them.

Sorry for your snakes, good luck getting them all back healthy again.

I don't think 4 inch heat tape would even begin to give off enough belly heat for a tub that size. I am using 41qt long tubs and have 11 inch heat tape under them. Sorry to hear about your snakes. Hope they get well soon
Too many snakes to list. Ball pythons, Gtp's and Boa's. It easier to say it that way.
