and this is why you dont get rid of your incubator...

I had tried to breed this big girl for about 7 months. she never took.. so i gave up - gave my incubator to a friend. While cleaning tonight she snapped at me for the first time tonight. I thought wow thats odd.. shes always been grumpy and anti social but never snapped at me... took a good look at her and bout fell over....

    what a punk!

-- ahh yeah.. and she shed a day or two ago as well.

Congrats, but why would you get rid of your incubator during the regular breeding season? Right now is when most people are getting ovulations and eggs.

Good luck with getting a healthy clutch! What was the pairing?

I only have three balls right now - one adult male spider, her and my 800g female pastel. well lol, since she wasnt taking i quit putting my male with her. She showed no signs of being gravid and my friend needed it so i said sure.. have it for now. oops.....Right now ive been focusing on my crested geckos so hadnt put much thought into trying to breed her again til fall - haha dang her...

and achilles thank you so much for your offer! Right now i think im going to try my luck at maternal incubation. I spent a good three hours reading up on every thread i could find and believe id love to go that route. Will let you know though if that doesnt work out as the next 2-3 weeks pass. =D

Good luck on giving MI a shot! Keep those humidity and ambient air temps where they need to be.

LOL I know exactly what you mean. I have had my incubator going for almost 2 months. Started it just to make sure it would hold temps and was all good to go. None of my balls did anything, so I figured I would turn it off....tomorrow. To say the least I am a procrastinator so I didn't do it (and forgot all about it). Then WHAM I look in one of my cages and...what do I find... eggs. You could have blew me over with a feather. Well I am glad I didn't turn it off. See it pays to procrastinate
