Out of Brumation Dragon
Hello everyone!
My Beardie Yoshi finally came out of a couple months of Brumation last week, to say the least I was happy because it's the first beardie I've ever had do it. Anyways, he is having some pretty crazy and annoying behaviors since waking up.
He runs around all day bobbing at everything, including me, which is just entertaining. That's not a big deal, the problem is that he runs around smacking into everything and trying to scale the sides of his enclosure. He seems very irritated and black bearded all the time, and is almost constantly on the move and tries to kill me when I try to touch him He was also showing this behavior before he brumated. Is this just testosterone filled Yoshi, or something different since it is an ongoing problem?
Run down of him and his set up.
He will be 2 this May. He is in a 40 gallon breeder tank with UVB strip light, and a 100 watt basking bulb. His tank is filled with all sorts of stuff for him to do including thick branches, hides, big rocks, plants, and a half cinder block under his basking lamp.
He eats 10-15 Adult Dubia Roaches a day. He hates salad, which is an ongoing struggle. He won't touch anything, and I've tried everything. Even if I put bugs in the salad, he will sit their for 20 minutes picking the bugs out of the salad. Eventually the salad will rot. He will not drink out of a dish, nor drink water if I spray him so he gets occasional baths, which he also hates...His poops look healthy and consist of a good amount of urates with them.
So, any suggestions as to whats up?
Thanks everyone!
