I recently acquired a Milksnake from a woman who was moving & had to get rid of it. I thought we got pretty lucky because my husband & I have wanted a pet snake for a long time & we got everything for the snake at such a deal I couldn't say no.And the snake,Harley Quinn,is so gorgeous & sweet,it even let me stroke her head and neck 2 days after we got her.
Anyway, the only thing she knew about the snake is that it is a milksnake, 1 year old and that she bought it from a breeder..she didn't know there different types of milksnakes.
I love researching animals,so I immediately began searching for the subspecies. I have found pictures that look similar, but haven't found an exact match. From the pictures someone told me it was a Black Milksnake, but when I looked up the description, everything says the snake should show signs of changing to black by now and it hardly has any black flecks at all. From my count, there are 31 white stripes, about 30 triads..the black, white & red go around the belly too and it is about 26 inches. I was hoping a Milksnake expert could help me out
