I purchased a 2000g female in January, she has been reluctant to eat for the entirety of the time that I have owned her. Today she struck at a weened rat, missed; kept interest but decided not to strike again.
I also noticed an awkward ball of what appeared to be a piece of wood in her bedding, but after closer examination I determined it had to be fecal matter.
However, it looks off from the norm. Way too dry, and appears to be tan, not dark brown as usual in some spots.
She has been drinking water, as I have seen her on several occasions; her ambient temperature is 81F, her hot spot is 93F, and I keep her humidity up around 60-70%.
Does anyone know what this could be a result of? I was concerned she may have developed follicles as her previous owner had kept her in the 70's for a while; and when I picked her up she was grouped with a pastel male I purchased as well. Could these be those slugs?
It also concerns me that this is her first stool in three months. However, this spikes my optimism that she will finally take up a meal soon.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
