Beautiful babies you've got there (: I especially love the lightning blaze. Can you breed dwarfs from standards? Or is this a completely different variety?

    Thanks!
Dwarfism is a recessive trait so you breed a dwarf to a standard size rat and hold back the females as they will carry the dwarf gene.
Then the dad back to the daughters for half dwarfs and half standard size.

I have been breeding dwarf to Black, Siamese, Blue Agouti and Blue females
My Black and Blue standard size rats carry Siamese as does my black dwarf.

My male breeder is a double rex which is why I place him mostly with standard coat females to make 100% rex coats.

This is him as a youngerster

And now as a multiple time proven adult dwarf

For a size comparison ~ This Blue Hooded male is about the same age

    Absolutely gorgeous rats!
My one rat mother just gave birth to 13 babies yesterday.
Hurts me everytime to need to feed them to a snake. I usually keep one "lucky" one as a pet. even though im horribly allergic lol...ugg

    Thanks everyone!

I've been making so many cute ones lately it's hard to decide which to photograph, lol.
I have some awesome dwarf stuff coming very soon and I have a litter now with numerous Blues and Siamese dwarfs.
I also have a group of agouti holdovers that carries more recessive traits than I've ever put together in a single ratty.
They carry Blue, Siamese, Dwarf, Red, Pink and Ruby Eye and can make a bunch of different colors and dilutes in both normal and dwarf size, going to be an interesting spring

    Back to cleaning tubs....
