    Help with python ID

I saw an amazing python at the last Repticon, and foolishly failed to write the name down.

It was about 6 feet long, medium-thick, with a fairly large head, black, with blue and purple iridescence (like an Indigo) and had thin yellow bands spaced a foot or so apart.

The owner said that these snakes were very rare, and that a young one would set me back about $3,000.

Anybody know what snake this was?

    Thanks.

    Blackhead python?

Tho that wouldn't set you back 3000USD. Over here you can get 1.1 for 1500 euros.

He had the snake out, and it was quite happy to be checking out the people who came up to it.

Gorgeous snake - I would buy one today if I had the money.

(Thanks for all the replies - you guys are awesome!)

Sweet looking snake!! Is it a type of carpet python? The head looks similar to a carpet.
