Small hatching male

I am thinking to buy a male. He was burn in last summer, almost one year one. But he was a small hatching, so he is only 120 gram right now.

Which one is more important when it comes to breeding, the age or the weight? Can he breed in a lighter weight at 1 year old? Or he still has to catch up first.

Anyone had any experience with the small hatching? Will they always grow slower, or once he catch up, the will grow as fast as other?

Wow! He really is small at 120g at almost a year old. I don't know anything about the breeding part. Someone will come a long shortly and help ya out.

Ill be honest i bought a small bee he was 22g as a hatchling and was not eating when i got him. got down to 19g after working with him and got him on rat pinks he shot up to 525g in less then 6 months. that little guy will grow just give him time and plenty of rats.

Oh wow he is tiny. I have a two year old mojave male that I attempted to breed twice this season at 450 grams. He has lost 100 grams since I attempted to breed him in December. My advice, no way in heck would I try it. If he stops eating you're done. My mojave was eating like a champ before I tried breeding him and now I'm dealing with feeding issues (he pretty much didn't eat the first 6+ months of his life, that's why he's so small). I wouldn't ever try breeding anything under 350 just in case they decide to give up on eating, at least you have a tiny bit of wiggle room at that weight. Ideally you wouldn't breed anything under 500 grams. There are some situations in which you would, but you need to really take it easy. In 6 months I only gave that mojave 2 shots at breeding.

As for your question about age and weight for breeding, they are both important.

Thank you guys. I will try my best get him to feeding. The seller said he is on rat pinks at 120 gram, and one every 7 days. I think I can feed him at least 2 every 5 days right?

All males are diff. My pastel ddnt go until he was 900 grams. He was lazy. But 500 is ok to try. But like they said. First sign of refusal to feed. Call it quits for him
