    Where to purchase vermiculite?!?

I am trying breeding for the first time this season. The snakes are locking, and I already have an incubator all set to go -- except for vermiculite for my egg box.

Where does a person buy some of this stuff? I have been looking around at Home Depot, etc., but here in MN it is still a little early for garden stuff. I'm not sure if they will get it eventually, or if this stuff is tough to come by in my area?

According to one person from MN it is. I thought I might just order it from here unless I can find it somewhere.

    Where can you get it???

    Thanks!
    George

yeah any garden supply store should have it, I'm not sure how common they are around you (or if Home Depot controls the gardening market)

At my own Lowe's here in St. Louis, they gardening supplies are pretty sparse, but by walking up and down every single isle, I did find big bags of Vermiculite.

It was NOT easy to find, and not at all where I expected it to be, so all I can tell you is look in every single garden related isle and you'll most likely find it. I think mine was in with the garden lime and other chemicals if I remember correctly. It WAS NOT near the soils, fertilizers, or mulch.

In the US in general both feed stores and nurseries generally carry it, so do home improvement stores.

Normally most gardening centers have it. Do you have any nurseries near your house?

Thanks for the tip -- I have been concentrating mainly in the potting soil area. I will keep looking and search a bit more thoroughly.

I guess I still have some time until I see eggs. I just like to have everything ready so it will go smoothly.

I order the large chunk from progecko.com, but the glitter grade I just go to Lowes or another garden supply place. As mentioned before please make sure it has no fertilizers added.
