Hi guys, I am not new to snakes but new to ball pythons. I received my first one earlier this week. He is in a tub with UTH on thermostat. I got cypress bedding to put him on, but what I did not do was setup the tub with the bedding in it before I added the snake to regulate the humitity right. Dumb I know, but I want to be a good bp Mommy and fix it. So, right now my humidity is above 80%. I would like to keep it around 60%. I am afraid that I don't have enough holes in the tub to keep air circulating good. I have 2 rows of small holes on 2 sides of the tub and in the top of the lid. There is condensation inside and it is too wet, I don't want him to get scale rot. blah. So, here is my question, should I take the cypress mulch out and use paper towels in the bottom instead? My worry is at I will stress the snake too much. He was shipped to me Wed and I will admit I have held him for a few short periods of time and I check his tub too much to see what humidity is etc. When I get a new snake I do not feed or handle for a week and I may even give him more time to settle in. However, I want to make sure his environment is right and drill more holes or change the bedding as soon as possible if I need to. Any help and friendly advise is appreciated, thank you. Cool side of his tub is 78 and warm side is 85 right now.
