Is she Healthy?
So I have yet another question. I am sorry if this bothers some of you have been doing this and just think that new breeders like me are retarded. So I picked up an adult female normal on 2-20-11. I weighed her when I got home and she weighed 1558g. I introduced my 1200g male to her on march 5. I did not see any lock what so ever. There was alot of interest on both parties. I took my male out 2 days later and re-introduced him again on march 8th. Only left him in there for 1 day with her and took him out again. This time there was no interest for either one of them. I took her out today and she felt extremely heavy, so I threw her on my scale. She weighed 1768g. She is a mice eater only and eats 2 - 3 mice every 3-5 days. I am not sure how she has gained over 200g from eating 11 mice since I have picked her up. Is she still healthy?
Once again I am sorry if all the questions bother some of you, just want to make sure my projects stay as healthy as can be!

Re: Is she Healthy?
I don't see why she wouldn't be healthy she is obviously eating great for you. Eleven mice and no poop could easily help her pick up that weight but when she goes she'll drop a good amount of that.

That is on an empty stomach she just pooped. I was cleaning her cage and that is why I took her out and noticed she was really heavy. I was maybe thinking that she may be producing eggs, but I don't feel any thing.

She defecated last night around 10pm. I cleaned it this morning since today is when we decided to wash out all the water bowls and everything

Breeding females is a long process the weight she has gained these three weeks you've had her is more than likely due to being well fed.

You don't think I am maybe over feeding her do you. I thought a couple of mice every 3 to 5 days isn't bad for her since she is an adult and only eats mice. I do not feed my rat eaters that much they eat every 7-11 days an appropiate size rat.
