For those that hav given you snakes shots

Ok I am injecting the cinny I gotten with baytril everyday as the vet said to do. I finding that it takes 2 (wishing for 3 ) people to do this mainly 2 adultd to hold him still enough to allow the 3rd to do the injection. I also finding out just how tuff that skin(betweenthe scales) is to get a needle though and these are sharp ass needles. I was wondering if anyone else has seem to have as hard time with their snakes. I so wrried that if I push too hard I end up well into the muscle or even in a organ. the needls I using are really fine ( almost sewing thread fine.)
So far I managed 2 ( with today going to be the 3rd ) and I am not too thrilled about trying this again lol and I still got 7 more after I get todays done.

We're lucky I guess. Charlie didn't give us much trouble when he was getting shots. I held him with one hand behind his head and another right behind where the shot should go and my boyfriend gave him the shot.

Try giving them to reticulated pythons. Its horrible. I have some photographs somewhere of a burmese python we got in that had baytril burms from where his owner did not inject him properly. It was horrible looking.

I wish more vets would use clindamycin on retics and burms. The baytril does seem to cause burns much more often on the big guys.

I think it's because with larger snakes a larger concentration of Baytril is required, since the dosage is based on weight...my brother's baby bp got an injection of Baytril but it was a very small amount since he weighed very little. He was fine.
To the OP here is a great video by a member of Bp.net on how to give an injection. Watch all three parts. It's a great watch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2L3A3N2IvBA
