Hello from Ohio

New here just wanted to say hello. I've got a 5 year old female ball pyhton. I've had her for 3 years. Just a little background info on how I came to own this snake:
I'm in college and a few years ago I was mulling around with the idea of getting a snake. It turned out that a friend of a friend's step dad had died and left them with a female ball python. She and her mother had no idea what to do with her so they found out I was looking for a snake and contacted me. I went just to look at her and they told me she hadn't eaten anything since the husband died. They tried feeding her with no avail and it had been about 6 months since the husband died. I saw her and had to have her. I held her for awhile and decided she needed to come home with me.
She was living in a small exoterra cage and they wanted to get rid of everything they had for her. I tried go pay them for all the equipment and they refused since she was going to a good home. I got her back to my place and put her in an empty 40L tank from a past pet. She ate about a week later and the rest is history.
