Thermostat questions...
So I already said NO to the Ranco, since there are better ones out there for only like $20-40 bucks more. So I saw the Johnson Thermostat on Pro Exotics (http://www.proexotics.com/store/prod...cat=249&page=1) for $100.00, and I was told by a friend that if I was going to pay $100 for a thermostat I should get the Spyder Robotics Herpstat (http://www.coldbloodedsupply.com/pro...-SHIPPING.html) and that one is $108.00 with free shipping. Any thoughts on what I should go with? Both look decent, the Johnson one actually looks nicer and easier to read/handle, but I've heard praises on the herpstat. Help? Please? lol

I would go with the herpstat.... you can get a johnson control for 80 at http://www.reptilebasics.com/thermostats/ if that is what you want. I have bought from reptile basics before and they are awesome....

Re: Thermostat questions...
If you don't like the Ranco then you're probably not going to like the Johnson. They are basically the same. The only difference is the color and shape of the case. The buttons, display, functions and programming are the same. So, I would say go with the Herpstat.

Spend the extra couple bucks and go with the herpstat if you are already planning on spending $108 anyway.

Re: Thermostat questions...
I would go with herpstat. I have two of them and just love them. The company is also very good and they have absolutely excellent customer service. A member in the cornsnake forums had a problem with her herpstat. Apparently the fuse had blown. Anyways, the owner of herpstat contacted her on her post and told her to send hers in and he would replace it for free. Not only that he was going to give her the newer version with replaceable fuses. Pretty nice IMO

go with the helix I have that aswell as the Ranco.... I just use the Ranco to control top heat to keep the heat in the rack. But the Helix is so easy to hook up and use it's literally one button

I have a Herpstat and I really like it. I'd highly recommend it.

Herpstat. It will give you the temp you set and not keep changing up and down like the on off ones do.
