    Exclamation Evil Lizards

out of the huge variety of animals i work with gold tegus are the most rewarding.
Even though they're evil. However The other day i made a VERY painful mistake w/ a golden tegu. First off have you ever heard the phrase " there are three types of people in the world: Those who learn from books those who learn from others and those who just have to pee on the electric fence themselves" Well im the third type, and since i got my first golden tegu they told me to always wear very very thick gloves when you handle goldens. i listened. For awail.
Well last friday i finally no gloved it w/ an aggresive juvie. worst herpotology mistake EVER!!!!! it resulted in profuse bleeding and he held my finger and wouldent let go for 14 mins!!!!! OOUUUCCHHH!!!!
so, if you have a columbian black and gold tegu please us your better judgment and resist the temptation to go gloveless!

Yeah those colombian Gu's have a rep for being nasty tempered and hard to tame down and those little teeth are no joke, but believe it or not i have actually seen some pretty tame ones and members on tegutalk with hand tame colombians. They just need a lot of work when it comes to taming them. Ounce you do manage to tame them down( tolerant) they are some really cool lizards and they have out of this world feeding responses lol,Hope you enjoy your Gu ,any pictures of the guy?

I have seen more aggressive lizards though.
Why? Why do humans always look to the sky? Why do you try so hard to fly when you don't have any wings? We'll run on our own legs. - Kiba "Wolf's rain"

She's giving you the stink eye and telling you not to leave your finger in her mouth for 15 minutes again.

They are cute, I'm sorry about your finger though. No stitches?

I feel your pain LOL. My first AWM (36in WC male) was super nasty for the first year I had him and never missed a oppurtunity to inflict nasty bleeding injuries that took forever to heal, even though he broke my thumb one, never liked the welders gloves I bought for him. I am a bare hand, no hooks kinda guy but would never suggest thats for everyone

    Re: Evil Lizards

Lol! When I first read the title I thought it was going to be about Tokay Geckos (I have 2) which are pretty evil. I was bit a few days ago by more more evil one of the 2. WOW! Would not like to get bit by one of these Tegus... Scary.
