Re: Am i crazy?
Can you afford to take care of all of the animals, and provide them with proper care? If the answer is yes then you don't have to many IMHO....

Re: Am i crazy?
Ever watch that show animal horders? Those are people who should not have that many animals. When they start over taking your house and it becomes disgusting and smells everywhere then you have too many animals!
If you can care for them as well as maintain a healthy environment for yourself/family your golden.

Too many?
...only if other parts of your life (work, relationships, happiness) or your animals are suffering.
Crazy?
...in a good way, as long as everything else listed above is good as well!
Small?
Don't sell your collection short, it is far from a small collection. Over a dozen species, and right around 100 dart frogs alone, great stuff

Were all crazy! About our animals!! I care for 190 animals daily. If you can provide more that just adaquate care, everyones fed, healthy and happy than fill your whole darn house. I certainly have. I had someone call me a hoarder one time. And I got truely angry. There is a true difference between a large collection and a hoarder. My collection came up in a simple conversation. They were complaining about taking care of their one dog. And I was like ya try 190. And they said you should be on that animal hoarder show. Needless to say I was darn mad. a hoarder can not provide for their animals, or themselves generally aswell. They will ignore warning signs like sick animals or dying animals and generally tend to hide from the world. Not letting people into it. Owning a business is quite different. I feel like it's my responsibility to give the animals whatever they need. No matter what. If someone passes away for any reason beyond egg death. They get a necropsy. They are cleaned and checked daily. And I certainly don't have this many because I lost track. I will go to the ends of the world for mine. I know what is in my capabilities to provide and I do it. Everyday no exceptions.
Do you feel like that? Do you feel like everyone gets the BEST? Not only the best you can give them but the best they deserve? Will you do it no matter what? If someone gets sick do you provide vet care if necessary? Do you practice safe qt? Are you able to take care of them and yourself? I'm sure the answers are yes! So do what you do! People don't understand that one can have alot of animals and have everyone provided for. Because they don't do it. The next time someone says your collection is to big. Tell them they have the right to their opinion but… everyone is provided for and you are happy. So let you worry about your life. Youre on the right track don't worry about people with nothing better to do.
