Exo terra small cave rock hide

Ok I have this exo terra cave rock hide and it doesn't seem to be getting enough heat. I even bought a temp gun and checked inside and it's no where near the heat on the floor and it's directly on top of the heat mat.

Do you think that is okay?

Example of the heat difference is floor heat 90-94
    And hide heat 75
Hope you know the hide I'm talking about if not ask and I'll try to post a link

    I'm not sure I understand.

If the floor-heat is 90-95, it should not change if you put the hide on the floor of the enclosure.
Is this hide open bottomed? If not, I suggest getting an open bottom one instead just because it's easier to remove the snake if you need to and regulate temps.

Yeah it's not open bottom but I hear good things about this hide. But if temps don't gett better I guess I'll have too =(

Yeah, an open bottom hide will do you wonders. I used the exo terra cave-like hides when my ball was small enough to fit in them, and they were wonderful because the doors are nice and small.

    I just bought this cave:

My little guy loved it right away and it was really cheap. I put it on top of the heat mat and it is holding the heat perfectly. I would suggest getting something with an open bottom and trying to return the one you bought.
