I would say just call around to pet places and see if anyone has experience probing them. I wouldn't recommend you or him doing it. As far as a simple way there is no way really to tell that wont hurt them if ether of you dont know what your doing

    Normal : 0.2 - Mini , Big Mama
    Albino: 0.1 - Blondie
    Pastel: 1.0 - Jafar
    Mojave: 1.0 - Timon

If you want to give it a go, look on Youtube, there are several videos about it, but be cautious. However, I would advise you to find someone who has done it before to help you along a bit.

I wouldnt advise probing the snake yourself. I was shown by a breeder how to do it on a test thing I went as slow as possible moved a tad bit to much and I would have torn the female. I will leave it up to the people who know w hat there doing I pay 10$ to get mine done

why does everyone want to probe their ball pythons? I learned to pop from youtube videos, if you can't find anyone to show you, look it up.

Do you have any plans on breeding?

If not then I would just leave the question unanswered.

head shape and tail shape tends to have a certain look but its by no means 100% accurate, I know a couple that are usually right about 95% of the time just by looking at them, but there always that 5%, have them popped, no guess work.
