May be kind of a dumb question, but.......

Why don't we see more breeders pictures of parings such as BEL X BEL? Just playing around with the genetics wizard and I never knew that a SuperXSuper would yield 100% Super with morphs such as BELs, or that a Super Cinny X Super Pastel would yield 100% Pewters. Just curious as to why we don't see more pairings of this?

I find it's just easy to plug into the worldofballpythons one and get what I need, and also get pictures. But good link!

So anyone want to answer my original question? Hahah

I don't do it because I'd rather expand my morph collection than make more of the same thing....

It's been done, I'm sure, but my goal is to make new things, maybe a quint-morph?

    That's why I don't do it.

This is just my opinion, but I think the reason we don't see many pairing like Super Pastel x Super Pastel is because most breeders want to get something better in the clutch than what they put into the breeding.
For example if I would pair a 2 codom male with a 2 codom female I would make the male and females codoms pairs different so I would have the chance of producing 3-4 codom offspring. If you get a 3-4 codom male out of that clutch you can, for example, make him your new main breeder and propel your BP breeding into more elaborate pairings. So as the prices of single and double codoms morphs start to drop you are one step ahead. Breeding a Super to Super and getting all 2 codom offspring is just spinning your wheels to me.

Also check out theses article from Colin Weaver, I think they have some insight on this topic: http://ballpythonbreeder.com/2010/12...d-opportunity/

*Edit* as I was typing my response Heather pretty much covered it in a shorter, better way

Re: May be kind of a dumb question, but.......

Super Pastel x Super Pastel = 100% produce 500 dollar snakes

Super Pastel x Spider Pin =
    25% spinner blast 2000 bucks
    25% bumblebee 500 bucks
    25% lemon blast 500 bucks
    25% pastel 150 bucks

giving prices change depending on animal and all that other stuff but there really no downside to breeding more morphs besides the risk factor, chances that you will be genetically further and make more valuable snakes.
