    Question Ball Python Head Underside

I was handling my female Ball Python today, and noticed she has a slit on the bottom of her head. It is about a centimeter long, and is white on the inside. I was just wondering if this is normal, and if so, what it does.

    Thank you!

You can take a picture just to be sure, but it sounds like the normal pattern for the scales underneath the head.

    Re: Ball Python Head Underside

The slit actually allows the lower jaw to stretch while eating... The jaws unlock and if you ever notice when your snake eats, the bottom jaw separates in half. It's kind of hard to explain.
