How can I get my BP to get used to handling

We've had Alice for going on 3 weeks now, she's about 6 - 7 months old, we got her while in blue, she's completely shed, we've fed her and she's done with that. The first night we got her she was very friendly and playful. Now everytime I try to hold her she moves back. I get to where I can hold her and she just wants to venture around, just being generally curious. I would just like to get her used to us so she's not scared when we go to pick her up, we just get the feeling like she doesn't being handled. Is there any way to help that or would it just take more time for her to get used to us?

Think of it this way, if some giant creature 1000x your size was reaching down to pick you up, wouldn't you flinch? lol. Just give it time and they'll get used to it..or not, it really depends on the snake, I have some snakes that are fine all the time, then others who are fine some days and then want to bite my head off the next, and then even others who ALWAYS bite me whenever I pick them up..each snake is different, and you just have to deal with how they are.

When my boyfriend and I got our snake Syd he was completely fine with me holding but was squirmy and mad whenever he would hold him. Still today he doesn't really like my boyfriend but I figure it has to do something with my scent, sometimes snake can tell who their owner is by their scent. If your snake starts to associate the smell of whatever room he's in with home, then it will probably get better, and give him that scene of security. Just give it time.
