    Itching for Spring, anyone else?

Anyone else ready for some Springtime herping? Big plans for this year?

I got very busy with family stuff last year and missed most of my prime time herping last year. I hope to hit up a few more locations in North Louisiana this year...the Louisiana Milksnake hunt. I also want to see if I can find an Eastern Diamondback in my part of the state. I have heard rumors most of my life....but it usually ends up being large timber rattlers.

Man itchy is not the word. I am going to start going out and flipping tomorrow. We have had a week of 80 degree temps so I know snakes are emerging to bask durring the day. I have talked to some buddies that have already stumbled across a few snakes. Seen pics of an Atrox down in deep South Texas. I got a new $150 flashlight for christmas and cant wait to use it. I really need to get in contact with some guys who go out herping salamanders. I would love to do this in the winter to pass time.

I have never gotten into salamanders...Most places I go are somewhat 'off limits' when hunting season is on. Even though I could go most places still....I don't want to risk getting blasted

I am patiently waiting for about midway through March ....but I might have to make a few trips before then. Turtles and gators will start coming out on warmer days soon...if not already.
