Red flourescent for new proline cage

Just bought a new 30x24x14 proline cage and i want to put a red 24/7 light source uptop in the front so i can somehow view at night. My plan was to buy an under cabinet fixture somewhere between 12-18". My question is has anyone done this and somehow covered the light with lens wrap (red in my case). I know you can buy it by the sheet online, just wondering if theres any pointers. And also, this HDPE plastic the cage is make out of is suppose to be stick-proof, so what would be the best way to hug the UTH to the bottom? thanks for the help guys.
