Desert Combo Question
I have so many desert combo out there for sell. Adding the desert in to a combo made the color very very bright. I wonder how long it will stay that way? Will those color fade away when they age. or it will stay that way?
Any one had a adult desert combo, like desert butter or desert pin, do they whole their bright color ?
Thanks

Re: Desert Combo Question
Deserts are one of my favorites because of how they look alone and what they do for all the combos they're in. Like most of the bright morphs, you can expect them to brown out a bit with age, but it's not as severe as with say, pastels.
Deserts tend to hold their coloration fairly well as they age, although it can vary from individual to individual based on factors like genetics and who the breeder was, as well as the quality of the specimen in question.

Re: Desert Combo Question
I do not personally have any desert morphs. From all the photos I have seen they really do brown out as adults. There have been some pictures that I really had to lool at and ask myself is that a desert, but the pattern gives it away. As adults they are still lighter then normals, but do brown out. By no means am I bashing this morph though. I think the desert is a must have in all collections. I think they do amazing things to all other morphs. A very clean, crisp, and bright snake. With almost 90% of ball pythons you will see some degree of color loss as the snake ages.

As babies/juvi's they are mind blowing in color and how smooth and refined they look. As adults.... ehh not so much, but still an awesome morph to have and very high demand

You can't make a desert as it's not a combo, and you can't make it from hets either as it's not recessive (it's dominant). You just have to buy one, then you can breed more from it.
