    Photoperiod affect mouse reproduction?

I am keeping several males and females together in my basement with the hopes of some of the females pregnant as I pull mostly males for the feedings. I realize that females become receptive every 4 to 6 days and that the gestational period is about 3 weeks.
Will the basement temps (63 degrees or so) and the short days of the winter affect the mice reproduction?
    Thanks

    Yes and no.
They will breed no matter what, but they breed best in in the 70's temperature range, and with more daylight than winter hours..

I have my lighting on a 14 hour timer.

    Re: Photoperiod affect mouse reproduction?

They adjust to their environment, cooler temperature is not as much as an issue as warm temps are, my rodent room temps vary from 48 to 60 in the winter and they breed just fine, now during the summer while they still breed the production drop.

I say yours will do just fine, also keep in mind that mice can actually get pregnant again within hours of giving birth, so they can drop litters every 21 days.
