How long...
Will your child sit still? I call her that because she's my only real pet and I live alone. Any who, I see amazing shots on the pics forum of balls that literally pose it seems like! My spider (calypso), will not sit still!! Doesn't matter if she's in my lap, around my neck, or even tied around my arm, she will not sit still! Always looking to explore it seems... Anyone else have this problem? I will say, she's a complete power feeder, and is the sweetest thing ever. If you pucker your lips near her head, to act like you're giving her a kiss, she'll come up and touch your lips, almost as if she know's what's going on, lol. Also, she's a year and 4 months as of yesterday!
My baby:
Last weigh in around her 1 year was near 600g. Yes, that is small, but the P/O only fed her once every 2 weeks, and not even the ample size food. She's now up to small mice every 6 days or so, and I'd say pushing 900g, and what seems to be a mile long, and not as thick as others!
Scott
PS: Damn the Iphone makes her look dark! She's much lighter in person, especially where her blushing is.

Re: How long...
Hahaha yeah some snakes are true explorers. With my bp, it seems to depend on her mood when I take her out, some days she'll sit still for a long time (or move around a little until she finds a position she's comfortable in), but I've also had quite a few days where she wants to explore everything. It can really be frustrating when you're trying to take pictures, that's for sure
She's a beautiful girl though!! I love spiders and she has some nice white on her!! Oh, and from those pics, I'd definitely say you could move her up to a small rat, or at the very least a large/jumbo mouse

Thanks. Meant to say small rat's, oops! I'm planning on picking up another, but all the morphs I want are just too expensive for me right now, hah.

She looks good! I only have a couple that will just lay there like a bump on a log. All the others are crazy and won't stop moving.

I like her a lot. Great color and good example of the morph. I have a nice spider male and he's one of my favorites. Thanks for sharing the pics and glad to hear she's on small rats now. She'll bulk up nicely for you I'm sure!

Want to know the secret to those amazing poses ?
Get everything you need to get the shot all set up, the middle of the day is the best time, have your lights, background, tripod, camera, etc. all ready.
Then, at the last possible second, go snag your snake while it's still mostly asleep, pop it into the prepared area, and before it has a chance to wake up all the way, snap those shots!
With some of mine, I can get maybe 6 or 8 shots before they start moving, with others, if I don't get the first shot right, forget it.
Very lovely spider, by the way.

Both of mine will stay in the same position for days in their tubs, sometimes to the point where I check them for breathing. That changes the minute they get a little freedom. They are constantly trying to get away, especially in the darker corners like shirt sleeves and hoodie pockets.

Ditto! Though my most aggressive and active feeders tend to be the most restless. They are ALWAYS looking for their next meal and they are the ones that were underfed by P/O's though one of them it was a deliberate thing for a few months rather than uneducated snake ownership.
