How often should I be feeding small JCP?

I bought a new JCP 2 weeks ago. I have been feeding every 5 days a rat pinky. He is very small, thinkness of a cigarette, maybe abit bigger. He was pinkys no problem, gets them down in about 5 mins. Should I move him to fuzzys and feed 2 every 5 days??

I think hoppers might be smaller than fuzzies. So I'd check out the hopper sizes where ever you get your rodents because not all places call all of them the same sizes.

Two hoppers might do it. Then when he gets larger you should try out the fuzzies because some can be pretty chubby.

rule of thumb is the thickest part of their body, but I've found with carpets them seem to have no problem going a little bigger.

also at least when I used to buy my rodents it went pinks (fresh born) ,fuzzies (starting to get fur), then hoppers (eyes open and jumpy little things). so different place might call them different things, so check into it.

Exactly, when I get my stuff here it normally goes pinks, hoppers, fuzzies, sm mice, etc.

Like many snakes with voracious appetites, carpets are very easy to overfeed.

I'd actually cut back to 1 feeder a week personally, but then again I grow up my carpets slowly.

If your carpet is hungry, that doesn't mean he's starving, it means he's probably a healthy carpet.

Thx everyone. I went today to the store and he said they go pink, fuzzy then hopper. So I have one pink left and will be feeding it that tomorow. I have 5 fuzzys I bought today. He seems to be able to get down the pinky in a few mins so will be switching it up next week. I have only been feeding him once every 5 days and will continue like that, not 2 a week.

If you are talking about rats, the pinkies every 5 days are fine. The rat fuzzies would be too big. We're feeding our baby jcp a rat pinkie every 5 days.

How is their growth compared to BP's? I know a few things have to be considered but say on a regular feeding schedule, proper digestion etc.
