Another Rack/Hide Question
Hey all..I just bought a rack that was built for 28 quart tubs. 2 of my 3 adults are over 1500 grams. My hides are about 9 " in diameter. You can see them at any Petco. They are the XL rock type hide. Should I leave them in there or take them out? It seem like they would have more room to stretch out without them, but I have used hides ever since owning them. The oldest is 3.

Once I switched to a rack, I tried to take out the hides of my larger snakes! They all did well and fed well! I only use hides for my youger ones but once over 500 grams, I try not to use them! Just try taking them out, if they won't eat then put them back in the ones that won't eat! If they eat then it's not a problem!

Re: Another Rack/Hide Question
I think I will. When you made the transfer, how long did you wait to feed them? Did you stick to your same schedule? I am wondering if the transfer will stress them out for a few days, throwing off my schedule off.

Re: Another Rack/Hide Question
I always base it on a case by case situation, depends on the animal, if the animal use it than I just leave it, if the animal doesn't than I remove it.
Some animals do well without hides while some even in a rack don't, the decision needs to based on your animals.
