Snake not Eating!

Iv been trying to feed my snake every week and he hasn't ate for I would have to say about 4-5 weeks. He has lost about 20 grams my dad said. I have had him for a little over half a year and he has never had problems. He is about 8-9 months old. I haven't had a hygrometer in his tank for a while and I finally got another one in there cause my old one broke. The humidity is rarely under 50% and the temps are ideal. His tank setup is a 40 Gallon Breeder and I use aspen as his substrate, he has 2 hides and some fake plants. He has 2 red lamps above and a UTH under the hide he is always in. He stopped eating after I switched him tanks, he went from a 10 gallon to a 40 gallon. He has always ate live, first mice and then rats, he didn't even have a problem switching from mice to rats. Any advice is appreciated.

I would recommend you to downsize, 40 gallons breeder for a male that age is huge.

BP do better in smaller, tighter enclosure.

Yea, thats what I was thinking. But if I remember correctly he ate a couple of times since he has lived in the 40 Gallon. What would you recommend I downsize to? I'm thinking a 20 gallon breeder but I'm not sure. Also I rarely handle him anymore, but I think thats doing him a favor. :o

Its like moving from a small house to a mansion. Your snake needs some time to adjust to its new environment. Switching back to a smaller enclosure will definitely help it regain its confidence and feeding response.
