    Question Advice, theories, tips please!

I'm taking care of two ball pythons. One is my lovely little Benjamin The other is my brother's! I'm taking care of his until well about another week or so. To the main point: He had a bad shed.. I've soaked, luke warm, warm towel inside the container, and waited. I've done this three days in a row. Gently, I've removed 3/4 of the shed The remaining portion is from the skinny part of his neck to the brain bump on his head. Long story short, the shed is really on his skin, the little guy has been a champ letting me gently rub at it seeing if I can find a loose part somewhere but no luck :/ ESPECIALLY on his head is my main concern because they are so head shy and its really on their.

The only breakthrough I think I'm going to have is when I feed the guy, the mouse will stretch out the skin in his neck and loosen it up. That with a soak following the next day hopefully I will be able to remove it.
Thats my theory, does anyone else have any helpful tips? Again, the shed that is left is the most sensitive, and really stuck on part. I just want him to be relieved of his shed so he can feel free 8)

Don't sweat it. Add some humidity into the enclosure and he'll take care of it himself. Not an issue at all.

The future is what I'm trippin on. You sure it wont get stuck to him and create that layer of dead skin that I read snakes in the wild get?

If you feel you must remove the retained shed, get a pillow case and a wash cloth. Dampen the washcloth and put it and the snake into the pillow case. Tie a sturdy knot in the pillow case. Place the snake filled pillow case into the enclosure. In the morning, open the pillow case and the shed should be gone.

There really isn't an issue, but try this if you want.

    Good Luck!

Nothing to worry about. As long as his next shed is good, the old skin will come off with it.

Also, not sure how long you're soaking, but when one of mine had a bad shed recently, I soaked her a good 15 minutes. It loosened up the skin enough that I just had to place her pack in her tub and she had it off within an hour after.

    Good luck!
