    Radiant heat panel manufacturers recommended?

I am looking to get my first RHPs and have no experience with them and haven't had much luck googling for reviews. I know I need 100-120w, but if anyone has any input on specific companies that would be great- thanks!

I love my Reptile Basics Radiant Heat Panel that i use in the Chondro Cage. It always keeps the temps perfect and hasn't missed a beat in over 6 months. I use the 40 watt model, but i believe they do have higher wattage's available.

I have Pro-Products RHP's and am more than happy with them. Send Bob an email and he will hook you up with exactly what you need. Give your cage size, ambient room temps and critter type. He's great to deal with and offers a top notch product.

I use Reptile Basics RHPs, and they work great. I highly recommend them. They are also cheaper than Pro Products, and are a lot easier to order online too.

Pro products, they make so many different kinds of panels, there no way they won't have exactly what you need. mine are over 2 years and running strong.

Re: Radiant heat panel manufacturers recommended?

Thanks guys- I ended up going with Reptile Basics.

I emailed both them and Pro Products with my cage dimensions, asking what specific RHP they would recommend and a price. Reptile basics gave me an answer and a price. Pro Products responded with a wall of text telling me all sorts of nonsense about how RHPs work and how it is difficult to determine what size I would need- they never recommended a device in the entire email or quoted me a price, but notated that they may be more expensive than competitors due to their higher quality materials. That sort of response baffled me and immediately made me feel uninterested in purchasing from them.

I just wish that the higher powered RHPs were available in square shapes instead of rectangular.

A nice 24" x 24" panel would be great in a 72" x 30" cage. The Reptile Basics 160 watt panel is 12.5" x 42.5" and that covers almost the whole friggin' cage.

The square inches would be about the same, but the dimensions would be so much better for a cage that size. It would make it easier to create a temperature gradient.

Boaphile Plastics also has RHP's, but I don't recall anyone ever saying anything about them...

How are they better? My Reptile Basics panels heat my cage perfectly. Hot side 90F, cool side 80F. How can you get better than that?
