weird looking butt on pastel and questions in regards to it

Ok i got this pastel last season, he breed fine for me and been doing great eating and everything. Well I checked on him a month ago and seen his butt looknig a litle weird ( at first I though might been from him going off feed for 3 weeks. and the difference ( well he been eating again since then. and it looks like it not gonigo down but might of gotten larger. I thinking and leaning to that his hemipeni (s) might have an infection from were I used( at that time a dustier aspen and particals) might gotten pull back in and causing this. I Know I need a vet but my localy( closest) vet is on vaction and othe other one for lower/mid de seemes to have stopped dealing with reptiles. I was going to get him on the baytril to start fighting the Gessing infection to get the swellnig down so I can pop hime and rinse the toys off( or get some help to do so ) so Ican make sure it all alright sadly noone close enough to swing by. I workingon getting the funds for the one vet once he get back from vac( just spent money on supplies so I gotto wait for the 13th for vet and one person to pay for a pc job.( so postto be tomorrow) I was wondering if anyone got any ideals on what i can do until such time, he not uncomfortable that I can tell eats, craps and will alt me poke at it ( why looks little red I was trying to see if i could pop him to seeif i find more aspen there again) sorry pic low qultiy I had my cell only this morning my digital not working.

Clean the area with betadine and polysporin.

Keep him off loose bedding for rest of his life to not irritate his hemis

Re: weird looking butt on pastel and questions in regards to it

That looks exactly like what my Mojave had - he had a prolapsed hemipene that retracted back in - and then months down the road he formed this lump that continued to grow and grow - I was told it was nothing, not to worry but have months of worrying about it I took him the vet - it was infected with abbsess pockets of infection - they had to do surgery on my little guy but his was much further along than yours. I would definitely follow up with a vet to avoid having to have surgery.

My little guy is doing great since his surgery - thank god.

    Good luck with your situation.

yeah I figure it was and infection and possible prolapsed hemipene would figure with my luck.. I been all day tryingot get the baytril to start treatment so I could get the swelling reduced.( also didn't want o go blindling tryingot pop an abbsess pocket and either reduce his man hood or even kill him.
even if I can get it treated and such he will not be used for anymore breeding only cause of this. as for his bedding he will be kept on paper towels from now on ( might got ot that totally just have ot clean more often since paper towel seem to get moldy afterthey splash the water once or twice during the week.
