    Silly biting "tell"

    Hey BP-net!

I was feeding my lil' normal BP yesterday when I noticed something really funny! I put him in his "feeding" enclosure while still in the process of thawing the rat, and realized that I had forgotten to weigh him and put the little heat pad under his "feed box". So I fearlessly reached down and scooped him up.. and guess what he did? He tagged me right on the knuckle, but right before he did it, he stared at me, opened his mouth a tiny bit, closed it, then struck. Was so adorable I watched the whole thing without even thinking to move my hand. He struck at me again when I took him out after he ate (but I'm a ninja and avoided it) and he did the SAME thing. He's tagged me only once before and I remember seeing it then too. I'm declaring it his about-to-strike "tell". Like a tell in poker if anyone is familiar with that.

So does anyone else have any funny stories of bite "tells"?

    Cheers,
    Fatal

    Good one

I had a feisty little normal girl a year or so ago who was determined to get a piece of me and she did a couple times, but every time I went into her tub, I felt like a matador trying to dodge the horns of the bull. We'd have our little frozen stand-off, then I'd make the move, she'd strike, I'd dodge, and we'd face-off again. Finally, I would best her be waving the left, then swoop in with the right. Once I had her she was usually pretty good. Since then, however, my luck has been pretty good and my mellow ways have seemed to rub off on the snakes because they're all pretty well tempered.

I do have a sweet giant girl that I love, but every time i go in to get her, I can't help but think how much I'd hate for her to tag me. She's a big girl with a big head (for a ball python) and I know she could do some damage.

Cute story, though! Thanks for sharing
