Re: Moisture like whoa
You need a lot more airflow. You need to cut out a big square hole on each side of the tub and cover it with quarter inch square metal screen.

When you say holes, do you mean you just poked holes in the plastic lid? If so, that is not near enough ventilation and you will get a lot of moisture buildup, and ammonia buildup. This can cause serious health problems for your rodents if left the way it is. I suggest cutting a large area of the lid out (ideally use the side of the tub) and put in some wire mesh (1/4-1/2")

How would I secure the wire mesh to the plastic?

Re: Moisture like whoa
in this sticky. it shows you an option for securing the hardware cloth. appears to be cable ties. i would just make sure to check them every now and then to make sure they aren't being chewed on.

One big big mistake I see with what you did is that you have the wire mesh on the outside. They can chew the tub on the inside that way and chew right around the mesh and escape. Which is why you should put the mesh on the inside.
