    Taste of the Wild.......

Has anyone tried this natural dog food yet? We just bought a bag to mix in and possibly switch over to. Its suppose to be awesome for them, all natural no corn. Just wondering if anyone tried it and what they thought?

TOTW is a good dog food. I know alot of people say it contains ethoxaquin(sp?) but if you read the web site it does not. I have a male rottweiler who had parvo at 7 months old and has some allergies because of his immune system. This is the only food that he can eat with out problems and I have tried many. This food gets two thumbs up in my book!

    Re: Taste of the Wild.......

I tried to feed totw dog food to my boxers. One switched over very easily and loved it. The other just could not handle it. She keep getting sick. When I talked to my vet he stated that it was because of how high the protein in this food was. He stated that older dogs can have a hard time adjusting to a higher protein food. Everyone else that I know that uses it swears buy it.

    Re: Taste of the Wild.......

both of our dogs and cat eat totw. our first dog ozzy was a picky eater and was a challenge to find any dog food for him that he like. and toyw is the only thing that he will eat and clean the bowl out. our other dog sopphie could care less as long as there is food in the bowl she will eat it.

Thumbs up Re: Taste of the Wild.......

After feeding raw for four years, I had to switch back to kibble (temporarily) due to a move and the loss of my deep freezer. I checked with other raw feeder friends to see what they would suggest and TOTW won out. I switched both of my Danes to it and neither had any issues. I am quite pleased and will probably always feed TOTW as an alternative to raw when necessary. Good luck with it, hope it works out well for your pup(s)!

My puppy loves it and we have tried canidae, natural balance and versus. We will stick with TOTW.

Do you have a high energy dog? I was feeding a holistic brand for a long time and could never get weight on my dobie, her metabolism was way too high for the food to keep up with her (even eating 8 cups a day at 60 pounds). I had to switch to Diamond because it's a bit more fatty, but still doesn't have all the corn/fillers/by-product in it. She filled out almost instantly. She can only eat lamb recipe-dobies are notorious for sensitive stomachs-so finding a food she can eat is not an easy task My only thing about really good dog food is that it's not always a good match for super high energy dogs. But assuming you don't have Satan's dog living in your house like I do, it should be fine

As for TOTW, it got a 5 star rating http://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/dog-fo...-dog-food-dry/ I really like this website for deciding on which dog food to feed.
