    Rough first shed

Well my 7 year old son caught the bug of snake addition so i got him his first BP for christmas. This isnt our first snake but it his his first snake to manage. Im making him his responsibility (with in reason of course, cleaning cage, feeding, changing water daily etc) Well our new guy went into shed about a week ago. I could tell he was having a rough time due to the amount of small pieces in his cage. What better time to show/teach my son on how to help by misting and soaking. I went ahead and soaked him tuesday night for around 30-40 minutes.

Well didnt work out to well, it didnt help him out to much. Not much was coming off and definitely didnt want to force it.

So i figured would give it a couple days, mist him a little and try soaking him again.

Well tonight we soaked him for a little over a hour and worked like a charm. Feels smoother than a babies bottom lol. My son was amazed on how well it worked lol.

That's awesome. Teaching a young kid about the importance and professional way to do something, great way for him to start out. Thumbs up!

It is very nice to read about a parent who gets a kid a snake and makes sure they know how to take care of it instead of just letting the animal suffer. I am sure your son will be thankful for your teaching and we all know his little slithery friend is
Lurker.Learner.Lover... Of all things creepy crawly and otherwise completely amazing!
