Has anyone used hatchrite?

I bought some this year and wondered how it worked for others.It says you do not need to add water.Is this true? So in your opinions is it better then vermiculite?

I posted a similar thread a while ago so I did a search to try to link you to it...in the process I found multiple threads that may help, but apparently I can't link you to the search results.

Just do an advance search and search in the title only 'hatchrite' and you should find 10+ threads that will help.

I've used it the last three years for four clutches and it's worked great. Very easy to use...never lost an egg and only added water the first year...probably didn't even need to...just paranoid since it was my first clutch ever...

I used it last year, and will probably never use it again...I had to add water like 3 times at 89 degrees. I did lose an egg, but it never candled good, so I'm not chalking that up to the substrate. I'll probably use a substrateless method this year as I only will have one clutch at most, but will probably use vermiculite when I start to get more clutches

I used it for a year without a problem, the second year, I lost a clutch because it dried out (i now check my eggs every two-three days)

They seem to have quality control issues. Some people get a good bag, and some of us get a bad bag. I will not use them again, adding water isn't really effective in that medium.

I've never tried with BP's but have with Gecko/Cham eggs. I have heard great things about it from some people but I wasnt impressed at all. I've always used Vermiculite with no problems.

I used it last year and it seemed really dry. I added water every now and again because my eggs kept denting. This year I'll use up the rest of what I have, but I'm going substrateless.
