Congratulations on your new ball python and such a beautiful one at that I'm loving his colors,he would definitely make a good future breeder.Where you get him?
Why? Why do humans always look to the sky? Why do you try so hard to fly when you don't have any wings? We'll run on our own legs. - Kiba "Wolf's rain"

He's gorgeous!! Congrats on your first bp and welcome to the addiction!!! And good thinking about the breeding thing. I'm so thankful of the time I had to learn about these guys before I ever started breeding!
My advice, put some fake plants or crumpled newspaper in the tank to fill up the empty space. He looks pretty young, so it's good to get him comfortable right away. When I bring babies home I don't even bother giving them a week to attempt to eat and then put the crumpled newspaper in, I put the newspaper in right away. Doing that usually saves you the first week's failed attempt at feeding (at least in my personal experience). Also the most important tip anyone could ever give you. The hide needs to be snug, he should have to ball up a little bit and be squished. I put crumpled newspaper in the hide if they are a tad spacey for the little ones.
Those are just my two most important tips for new babies. It's exactly what I do, it's not just something I made up or mindlessly repeating! I know you didn't ask for it, but they are tips people gave me when I was first starting and they work great! Actually the tip about putting the newspaper in right away was from a friend of mine just this fall, and it works great! You'll never stop learning with these snakes!
