    Bp not hiding as much

Well now that my 2010 normal bp is over 500 g, I just started to notice he doesnt spend all day in his hide, now his cold side is 80-82 warm side 91-92, humidity 55-63, waterbowl in the middle, a 20 g long tank. He has a cave on the warm side he always hides in and goes to his cold side cave to cool of and always poops in there, well he is just about the length of the cage. Well he sometime hangs outside his caves now the past couple days, like I just fed him today before the feed I think he was "hunting" but instead of hiding in his cave he is lying along the back wall, he is in my closet and I check on him every day, but he isnt under any stress seems in good health.

Is this a phase, does he need more floor space, a bigger hide, or maybe he just feels comfortable outside his hide cuz it's dark in the closet?

Re: Bp not hiding as much

Exactly. Since he's in your closet I'd wager that he just feels secure enough to not need his hides, because I'm assuming it would be darker in there. No worries, husbandry is good, so he's just being him.

Yeah when i used to keep my snakes in my closet, it was dark 24-7, they would only use the hides when they felt the need to.

But to post the common answer, double check the temperatures inside the hides to make sure your thermometer isn't going haywire and your snake is trying to tell you it's too hot. But chances are he is just comfortable in the closet!!
