    First Meal

    Hi,

I will be feeding my juvenile Mexican Black King his first meal (a fuzzy) today.

If she doesn't eat her meal immediately, how long should I leave the fuzzy in the viv and when to try again?

    Thanks.

How long have you had her? I give all of my new snakes at least a week to settle down before I try to feed them. I also don't feed them in their bins. I think it conditions them to think when you open the bin, it's time to eat. ( a good way to be mistaken for food ) If she doesn't eat right away, you can try putting her in a brown paper bag with the feeder, and just leave it over night. It should be gone in the morning.
    Good luck!

    Thanks for the fantastic advice.

Just fed my MBK an hour ago. She just snapped at the fuzzy when I brought it into the viv. I think she knew it was there as I left it to defrost near the viv.

I'm not sure if it's normal, but she did a poo 30 minutes after her meal.

    Thanks again.

It was probably just time for her to poo.
