Welcome to the site! BP's are a lot like Corns in the way you care for them. As for rats, yes they eat rats! But, I've heard of people feeding them a few mice instead of a rat. But, not sure it this is healthy or not! Mine are all Juvi's so they are eating Hoppers!

Hello, and to BP.net...
BP's can be fed rats or mice. Some will readily take both, but there are some that are "Mousers", meaning that they just refuse to eat rats, so they are usually fed multiple mice once they are adults...

Re: Hello from Louisiana
Hello I am new to this sight as well. I am finding the information awesome. I have a 2 1/2 year old female bp and she will not take rats no matter what I try she is eating 2 large mice every other week and is a good weight and over all very healthy. I was told rats were a better food source and would be cheaper overall but feeding more of the smaller prey works as well. Have fun looking around I sure am.

Welcome to the forum neighbor. Both are great animals with their owns needs but if rats bother you, I would go with the corn.

Thanks I think I am going to go with the corns. my husband is still is not ok with me having a snake he has a small fear for snakes, but he is working on it. He pet a corn at my son bithday party that was at the zoo. But thanks for all the info, I will still stay here and look around and see what what peolpe has to say. I dont want my husband to feel uncomforable in his own home.
