Best tape for probe on a UTH?

Hey everyone, this is really giving me a scare. Sometimes i go check out my snake see if everything is okay and the probe falls off the bottom of the UTH and the temp gets much higher because its not actually on the UTH. I have a herpstat. Ive used electrical tape and ductape, right now its very secure with a bunch of ductape but i am afraid the probe frmo the herpstat will eventually fall off again. Anyone know a good tape for this?

a description or pics of ur setup would be great. then we could help you solve ur problem. but when i had to tape them on i used duct tape or aluminum foil tape.
A room full of empty racks and thermostats that have been unplugged.

Is the probe inside the cage or outside? When I used a tank I always placed my probe outside the tank in between the glass and heat mat with lots of aluminum foil tape. It never budged.

Foil tape is the best to use for probes, or all of your heating related needs.

I use aluminum tape for t'stat probes, mine have never fallen off (and the tape doesn't melt either).

I agree... Tin Foil Tape is the best solution, I use this for a number of applications. You can find it at your local hardware store or Home Depot / Rona in the HVAC section. Good Luck.
